About Community Roots Collective

Community Roots Collective is a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to providing access to fresh, healthy food for low-income families in Boulder County. Through their weekly produce distribution program and after-school meal initiatives, they serve hundreds of families each month. Their mission is to cultivate stronger, healthier communities through food access, education, and empowerment.

How They’re Using the Grant

With funding from the Feeding Dreams Foundation, Community Roots Collective expanded their “Fresh Fridays” program—doubling the number of produce bags distributed to local families each week. They also used a portion of the grant to purchase insulated storage units, allowing them to safely store perishable donations and reduce food waste.
